At its inaugural London Salon, British cultural luxury house SELHAYA presented ceremonial silk couture and framed artworks in a historic City of London setting, reflecting the brand’s approach to cultural luxury.

Inside the Egyptian Hall at Mansion House, silk first appeared in motion on the fashion runway. Later, in the Drawing Room, it appeared framed.

That transition—from ceremonial couture to collectable art—captured the central idea behind the inaugural SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon, held on 27 June 2026 at Mansion House in the City of London.

Her Regal Majesty Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi attended the inaugural Salon as Guest of Honour. Her participation gave particular resonance to an event built around the preservation and contemporary expression of craftsmanship.

A Luxury House Built Around Silk

Founded in London by Aisha Hossain and Sajjad Choudhury, SELHAYA has developed its identity beyond the traditional rhythm of seasonal fashion.

The House creates ceremonial silk garments, private couture commissions, framed silk artworks and cultural gatherings, bringing them together within one creative world. Each piece is intended to carry a story beyond the occasion for which it was made.

That approach was expressed throughout the Salon.

In the Egyptian Hall, SELHAYA presented ceremonial silk couture from The Royal Collection, featuring flowing silhouettes, detailed embellishment and modest forms in the setting of Mansion House.

Rather than treating clothing as a temporary expression of a season, the House approaches couture as a form of ceremony. Private commissions are developed around the wearer, the significance of the occasion and the personal or familial story the finished piece is intended to preserve.

From Ceremonial Couture to Collectible Silk Art

Beyond the runway, the Drawing Room introduced another dimension of SELHAYA’s work: its firstcollection of framed silk artworks.

Presented within the historic interior of Mansion House, the works explored silk not only as a material to be worn, but as an artistic medium that could be displayed, collected and passed from one generation to the next.

Among the central works was The Sovereign Jewel, an original framed artwork handcrafted on gold silk taffeta and embellished with intricate embroidery and more than 800 crystals.

The work demonstrated the scale of SELHAYA’s

ambition for silk. Within the House, the material can become a ceremonial garment, a private heirloom or an artwork created to preserve a personal, familial or institutional legacy.

Selected SELHAYA silk artworks are available for private acquisition, while collectors may also approach the House to discuss personalised commissioned pieces.

The SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon Returns

The second annual SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon is now being curated for Autumn 2027 in London.

The next edition will expand the Salon into an elegant gala evening featuring SELHAYA couture, a silk art exhibition and a carefully curated programme of cultural conversation.

It will once again bring together royalty, cultural leaders, collectors, philanthropists, private patrons and figures from the worlds of luxury, art and enterprise.

As SELHAYA develops its international presence, the House remains committed to creating work that brings craftsmanship, culture and human connection together.
