From Louis to Vuitton celebrates the Maison’s timeless journey from its origins in 1854.
From Louis to Vuitton: A collectible Beau Livre by Maison Louis Vuitton and Assouline.

When Louis Vuitton tells its own story, the result is an object of desire. This November, the French maison unveils From Louis to Vuitton, a 406-page visual and literary journey into the heart of its creation, published by Assouline and written by Franco-Swiss author and filmmaker Arthur Dreyfus. With a foreword by the House’s President and CEO, Pietro Beccari, this latest Beau Livre opens the doors to one of the most enduring legacies in fashion and craftsmanship.

Structured around 54 carefully chosen words, each representing a theme or concept, the book serves as both dictionary and dreamscape. Readers are invited to navigate freely through 320 images that chronicle the brand’s origins, spirit of travel, and evolution into a modern symbol of global sophistication. Every page is a testament to the tension and harmony between innovation and tradition, a duality that has defined the House since its founding in 1854.

The story begins in Asnières, home to the House’s historic workshop and family residence, where Louis Vuitton’s pioneering spirit took root. From there, From Louis to Vuitton charts an odyssey through time, celebrating the artisans who built the brand’s foundation and the creative directors who have continually reimagined its codes. It highlights the House’s stores as architectural landmarks, uniting fashion, leather goods, jewellery, timepieces, and fragrance under one signature savoir faire.

As much as it is a retrospective, the volume also looks outward to the House’s ties with the world. From the elegance of early steam travel to its contemporary partnerships with Formula 1 and the America’s Cup, the book captures the enduring resonance of movement. “Travel” here is not only a motif but a philosophy, a way of understanding how craftsmanship, culture, and curiosity can move the world forward.

Louis Vuitton’s environmental and social commitments also take their place in this living archive, with reflections on the brand’s Committed Journey, its ongoing initiative toward sustainable innovation and climate responsibility.

In true Louis Vuitton fashion, From Louis to Vuitton is an object as exceptional as its subject. Encased in a Damier patterned sleeve with a vibrant yellow cover inspired by the saddle stitch, it is available from 3 November 2025 at Louis Vuitton boutiques, on louisvuitton.com, and at Assouline bookstores worldwide. For collectors, an ultra limited edition trunk crafted by Louis Vuitton’s artisans will accompany select copies, turning the volume into a collectible masterpiece.
